Two days after!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.
We had all the little ones over, for a quick visit, on
the way to their cousins.  I say “Quick” however it
was hours and it was so much fun.  By the time they
left I was exhausted!!  God bless them, they love
their grandfather and they love my food. Everyone
talks at [...]

Perfect creamed pearl onions

Your brother in law will never joke about your cooking again.
Forget the jar or fozen white pearl onions. Those are junky fillers.
This is the real thing and well worth the time. Actually these
are time consuming but not hard.

You’ll need, cream, (heavy is perfect but light is fine),
canned/boxed chicken broth.  Don’t use homemade
leave that in the freezer [...]

Rippit

I started a cowl with that beautiful emerald yarn

It’s awful.  I even followed directions.  Last night I decided
to rippit.
and then reworked it without the circulars.  This time I put in some

palindrome cables.
I think it’s much better this way. I’ll work it for 20 odd inches and then
sew it together (lordie I hate to sew).

I [...]

In love with yellow!

I love yellow.  I look for it everywhere. Especially in November. I think November
is gray, cold and depressing.
I like to think yellow will go with
everything.  Of course it doesn’t.
I learned that when I had my dining room painted a brilliant yellow
called “Lemmon”.  The painter said, “You need sunscreen to be in
there!”.
Our niece and her [...]

Rant

I know I’ve been lacking when it comes to posting on my blog.
It’s certainly not because I have nothing to say. I was
wrapped up in other things.   Thoughts are always running
through my mind. Most I try to block, yet others keep churning
and churning.

I always wonder how some things make it to the evening news.
Locally there [...]

Death by Cashmere.

Another gift from my friend is:   Death by Cashmere, by Sally Goldenbaum.
It’s the first in a series of knitting mysteries. It takes place in Seaside Harbor
a fictional harbor town on Cape Ann in Massachusetts. It references Gloucester
and some other local towns on Cape Ann. I thinks Sally has done a good job
bringing in the local [...]

In the round

Whilst wandering Michaels, I picked up some baby yarn. This is
the standard Bernart worsted weight baby yarn.
I loved the variegated watermelon colors and proceeded to make
a simple hat. My problem, even though it was pretty it didn’t sell.
So I ripped it out, (frogged it) and started over,  adding a second
baby weight yarn. It’s white with [...]

Sunny Days!

We awoke to beautiful sun, and cool fall air.

I love it.

I’ve been staring at some spring bulbs for a few weeks
and decided to force them. They’ll remain in the green
house then I’ll put them on the porch outside to freeze.
I hope to have some nice arrangements next Easter.

I started some paper whites, a week ago.  [...]
