A little progress

I finally got to sit down today and actually knit away the afternoon.
We’re having dark, rainy dismal weather. I don’t mind because we’ve
had some fabulous sunny days and I’ve taken every opportunity to enjoy
them.
This morning I went out and saw this guy staring at me. It’s a hawk.  And
it seems like every morning [...]

Earth Hour, Vote Earth

Tonight at 8:30 P.M. there will be EARTH HOUR.
64 countries and territories will participate for one hour, turning off their lights.
This will be like a rolling blackout around the world. Major cities are turning
of their iconic signs to participate. I’m from the Boston area and the Kenmore
Square famous  Citgo light will be darkened for [...]

Spring Blossoms

A pretty bouquet full of the most beautiful blooms!!

Yesterday I got some beautiful spring flowers. I love this bouquet.  It never stops.
The florist stuffed every possible flower into this wide mouth vase and it’s glorious.

It has oranges, whites, yellows, reds, pinks, purple.

Baby Boy Blue

I don’t know why the mittens are so big and the
hat is so small. But Matthew is only three weeks
and he can’t wear them anyway.

It was a fun afternoon project, and who can resist baby boy blue!!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Sure, a little bit o’ Heaven
Fell from out of the sky one day

And nestled on the ocean
In a spot so far away
.

And the angels found it,
Sure it looked so sweet and fair
.

They said suppose we leave it,
For it looks so peaceful there!
.

So they sprinkled it with star dust,
Just to make the shamrocks grow.
.

‘Tis the only [...]

Corned Beef Boiled Dinner

If you look up you’ll see that I’m (making a mess hahaha).  I’m putting
recipe techniques on seperate pages. That way you won’t have to scroll
to find the creamed onions or this recipe.  I’m only going to do my own.
It wouldn’t be right to take the banana bread or blueberry bread and
publish where someone else developed [...]

Primping Mirror

Today while I’m cooking the corned beef I thought I’d share
a little bit of our Irish family.

This is my husband’s great aunt Lizzie. The picture came to
us when his mother’s estate was divided.  What I love is
her warm smile and she has her two faithful dogs by her side.

Because she was never married, her father [...]

Little Girls

I’ve started another project. It’s much better than cleaning house.
I’ve made this set before. This time I’m not going to do the leggings.
Instead I’ll do leg warmers. The pants and leggings are hard when
someone needs a diaper change.
I love the bonnet.  I think all little girls should have a pretty bonnet.

I just started and [...]

Steeling their courage.

This is too beautiful not to post. I took the article from the Boston Globe. ABC’s Charlie Gibson did a segment on it last night.

God Love the Hard Hats.

Whew!

Yesterday morning I looked out the upstairs window, and of course
we’re covered in snow.

I heard a noise, which is odd because I can’t get out the driveway. Which means
no one can come down it either.

And LOOK who came to save me.
The plow and sander, YIPPEE

Unless you go through it.  There is no happier feeling than [...]
