Every afternoon I’ve been wanting a cup of soup. The reason is, I’m reading these mystery books and they’re always talking about FOOD. I can’t escape them!!
I was reading the Lorna Barrett series, “Booktown Mystery”. Three so far. She’s a book store owner and her sister is a cook. And of course she is [...]

Yummy Coleslaw
I’ve made my coleslaw with the food processor.
I have to use the shredder wheel,
and it just isn’t good enough.
The slice wheel leaves very long strands.
And you have to angle the chunks.
It makes a mess.
And compounds the work.
Because you’ll be hand chopping anyway.
The mandolin is far better.
As long as you [...]

Berry Good
Strawberries belong to SUMMER. Yes we get them year round now,
but you have to have these somewhere on your tidbit menu.
I was in the store, next to the berries was a lovely tray,
with dipping sauces for strawberries
. Flavored Cream Cheese, in one, dripping warm chocolate in the other.
I made my own blend. I chopped/minced 4 berries [...]

Tropical Pasta Salad
Better Homes and Gardens sends
recipes for every event on the calendar.
The other day they sent out this salad
. It called for basil (which I don’t like). So I revamped some of the seasons.
Last night I cooked up the bow ties, and tossed in vegetable oil. (the olive oil seemed tainted). I had an envelope of [...]

Rolling Along
Her Blog is called Tropical Screamer, but I call her The Amazing Lace.
She makes the most artistic lace creations. Please take a look at her work, it’s beautiful.

One day she posted that she was baking bread and she was using a bread machine. I never had one myself, and always wanted to have one. Because [...]

Four Onion Soup
Four Onion Soup
I call this my Easter Soup. It’s light, soft as velvet, and pleasant on the palette.
When you serve it some one always says, Oh I don’t drink soup, I don’t want much. They end up having thirds.
This is ideal to serve before a large meal because it doesn’t have to be piping [...]

Corned Beef Boiled Dinner
If you look up you’ll see that I’m (making a mess hahaha). I’m putting
recipe techniques on seperate pages. That way you won’t have to scroll
to find the creamed onions or this recipe. I’m only going to do my own.
It wouldn’t be right to take the banana bread or blueberry bread and
publish where someone else developed [...]

Blueberry Coffee Cake
I’ve been saving a blueberry coffee cake recipe all winter.
Today I gave it a go. The recipe says it will feed nine. I
don’t doubt that. If your planning a brunch or tea I recommend
it. And like most fruit cakes/breads, preparing the day before is
even better.

Perfect creamed pearl onions
Your brother in law will never joke about your cooking again.
Forget the jar or fozen white pearl onions. Those are junky fillers.
This is the real thing and well worth the time. Actually these
are time consuming but not hard.
You’ll need, cream, (heavy is perfect but light is fine),
canned/boxed chicken broth. Don’t use homemade
leave that in the freezer [...]

After Voting!
The parking lot was overflowing. People even parked
in the fire lanes. I don’t know why. I parked on a side
street and had no problem. It was a tiny walk, and
a beautiful morning. I met a couple doing the same
thing and we had a nice chat on the way in the door.
It was very enjoyable. They [...]
